Resins

Isophthalic Unsaturated Polyester Resin

Isophthalic polyester resin, derived from isophthalic acid, offers superior mechanical properties and durability. Ideal for demanding applications in industries like marine, chemical environments, and automotive, it provides excellent resistance to corrosion, chemicals, and temperature changes. Its strong adhesion and compatibility with reinforcement materials make it a preferred choice for manufacturing fiberglass-reinforced plastics and composite materials.

Orthophthalic (GP) Unsaturated Polyester Resin

Orthophthalic unsaturated polyester resins are versatile and cost-effective materials widely used in composite manufacturing. Derived from orthophthalic acid and glycols, they offer good mechanical properties and are easy to handle. Commonly employed in construction, automotive, and consumer goods, these resins excel in various molding processes due to their excellent wet-out characteristics. They are valued for their affordability and suitability for a wide range of composite applications.

Vinylester Resins

Vinylester resins are a class of thermosetting polymers known for their exceptional chemical resistance and mechanical properties. They are formed through the esterification of epoxy resin with unsaturated monocarboxylic acid. Vinylester resins offer superior resistance to corrosion, making them ideal for applications in aggressive chemical environments, such as marine, chemical processing, and infrastructure. Additionally, their high strength and impact resistance make them suitable for demanding structural applications. Vinylester resins are often used in conjunction with fiberglass reinforcement to create composite materials with excellent strength-to-weight ratios and durability.

Vinylester Tooling Resin

Vinylester tooling resin is a specialized type of vinylester resin formulated specifically for tooling and mold-making applications. Renowned for its superior dimensional stability and surface finish, it is a preferred choice for creating high-quality molds used in composite manufacturing processes. With excellent thermal and chemical resistance, vinylester tooling resin ensures long-lasting durability and accuracy in tooling applications. Its low shrinkage characteristics make it ideal for producing intricate and precise molds for various industries, including aerospace, automotive, and marine.

Fire Retardant Unsaturated Polyester Resins

Fire retardant polyester resins are specially formulated to slow down or prevent the spread of flames and reduce smoke emissions when exposed to fire. These resins incorporate additives or fillers that confer fire-resistant properties, making them well-suited for applications prioritizing fire safety, such as construction, transportation, and electronics.

Our range of fire-retardant resins is available in different classes tailored for various industries:

  • Class 0 / 1: A pre-accelerated, filled retardant polyester resin designed for rapid wetting of reinforcements, ideal for contact molding applications in the transport and specialist sectors.
  • Class 2: A pre-accelerated, thixotropic non-UV stabilized fire-retardant resin offering cost-effective environmental benefits while enhancing mechanical performance and heat resistance.

Epoxy Resins

Epoxy resins, with higher density and superior transparency and adhesion compared to general-purpose polyester resins, are favoured in industrial applications for laminating and casting. They also provide enhanced moisture and chemical resistance.

VARIENTS INCLUDING THIXOTROPIC, FOOD GRADE, UV STABILIZED , LOW STYRENE EMISSION, AND GREEN RESINS ARE AVAILABLE AS PER THE CUSTOMER’S REQUIREMENT
