Product Description :

Solvent system for cleaning molds. General purpose cleaner that may be used to remove excess semi-permanent release, resin residue and to prep molds before touch up with semi-permanent release.

Composition :

Proprietary synergistic blend of hydrocarbon solvents designed for cleaning various tool surface.

Handling

Wear chemically resistant protective gloves such as nitrile, neoprene, or butyl. Wash hands frequently and, if convenient, use a protective hand cream. Washing of hands is recommended since CX-500 may penetrate gloves after extended use. Use goggles and do not smoke until hands are completely clean.
When cleaning RTV or rubber molds, apply CX-500 to the outside of the mold a few times to determine if there is any harmful effect to these materials.

Uses

Mold cleaner for use with Semi-Permanent releases
May be applied to warm molds.

Application Instructions

Review MSDS before use.
Use full strength. Do not dilute.
Cleaning: Lightly dampen a cotton cloth with cleaner and wipe gently to remove excess semi-permanent release from molds, or to prep mold surfaces prior to touch-up. Wait for solvent to flash off before molding or re-applying release.Stripping: When removing heavy wax buildup, use a wet cloth or a stiff natural bristle brush (Rugged Charlie Brush) to work cleaner over the mold; wipe off with a clean cotton cloth.

More than one application of each cleaner may be necessary to totally strip molds.

Precautions

Wear safety goggles and protective gloves. CX-500 contains flammable solvents and should always be used in a well ventilated area. Store in a cool, dry area.
