APPEARANCE: Highly thixotropic, black tacky material. Cured by reaction with
moisture in the air to an elastic rubber like material.

HEALTH HAZARD INFORMATION
 
HEALTH EFFECTS:

Acute

Swallowed: Harmful - seek immediate medical advice.

Eye: Potentially serious - seek medical advice.

Skin: Mild irritant due to solvent - avoid contact.

Inhaled: No hazard in general use, good ventilation required in confined spaces.

Chronic: Potential skin sensitiser due to xylene.


FIRST AID:


Swallowed: Do not induce vomiting - seek medical attention.

Eye: Immediately hold eyes open - wash with copious quantities of
water for a t least 15 minutes and seek medical attention.

Skin: Remove affected clothing and thoroughly wash affected area with soap and water.

Inhaled: Not normally a hazard but if overcome remove to fresh air and resuscitate as necessary - seek medical attention.

First Aid Facilities:

ADVICE TO DOCTOR: In all cases of ingestion, seek advice from 0800 734 607.
 
 
PRECAUTIONS FOR USE
 
EXPOSURE STANDARDS: Isocyanates (all as - NCO) 0.02 mg / m³ TWA 0.07 mg / m³ STEL Xylene 80ppm TWA 150ppm STEL

ENGINEERING CONTROLS: Local ventilation not normally necessary but should be considered if used in poorly ventilated or very confined spaces alternatively a respiratory protection mask fitted with a type A1
filter and complying with AS/NZS 1716 Respiratory Devices and used in accordance with AS/NZS 1715 which describes use and maintenance.

PERSONAL PROTECTION: Neoprene or nitrile rubber gloves are recommended if prolonged and extensive skin contact likely. Do not store or consume food, drink or tobacco in an area where they may become contaminated with this material. Wash thoroughly before eating, smoking, applying cosmetics etc.

FLAMMABILITY: Not flammable under conditions of use in well ventilated areas. The product will burn if exposed to direct flame. A fire will cause the decomposition of the polyurethane causing the production of carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, hydrogen chloride and oxides of nitrogen. Under certain combustion conditions traces of hydrogen cyanide gas may be generated. Self contained breathing apparatus is recommended when fighting fires involving large quantities of Sikaflex.
 
 
SAFE HANDLING INFORMATION
 
STORAGE & TRANSPORT: Storage between 0°C and 30°C is recommended. Above 45°C material may polymerise without hazard. Protect from moisture and extremes of temperature.

SPILLS & DISPOSAL: NOT OF SPILLABLE CONSISTENCY Clean up with cloth or tissue moistened with white spirits or allow to cure and remove mechanically. Dispose of at an approved landfill waste disposal site when fully cured.

FIRE/EXPLOSION HAZARD: Fight fires with foam, CO² or dry chemical extinguishers. Do
not use water. Produces oxides of nitrogen and under certain combustion conditions traces of hydrogen cyanide could be evolved.

OTHER INFORMATION: Persons known to be hypersensitive (asthma, chronic bronchitis) should not use this product.
